FOOD HUNT: Pan de Amerikana (Marikina)

Pan de Amerikana

"Life is short, eat dessert first.”

We ate desserts when we visited Pan De Amerikana because why not? Hehe. The place was beautifully designed and people who love the vintage feel will definitely keep coming back to the place. Pan De Amerikana is one of those places that people from different cities intentionally visit in Marikina because of its good food and amazing ambiance.

When we were there, the place was packed with families having their lunch. There was a group of “Lolas of Manila” that time who gathered together around the piano while one of them was playing. They lit up the place singing oldies but goodies songs.

Pan De Amerikana allows photoshoots but you would need to ask permission ahead of time, especially if they are for pre-nuptial shoot, debutant shoot and other formal events. As for me, well, it wasn’t really a formal shoot and we just played around with the camera so we captured some artsy shots of the place.

WHY WOULD I RECOMMEND THE PLACE?

☆The Restaurant’s Interior- this branch has an interesting interior, from the entrance to the comfort rooms it is obviously well thought of. It really stands out among its competing restaurants. They take pride of their garden setting which showcase waterfalls, a treehouse, rope bridge, koi pond, traviesa benches, old antique wood tables, tropical rain forest plants and even a wishing well that greets you at the entrance. Just beautiful!

☆The Chess Theme- This branch is considered as one of the five chess themed restaurants in the world. You don’t  actually have to ask why once you see their giant chess board which is probably the main attraction of the place. You could actually get a set of chess pieces on their shelf beside the cashier so you could play with friends at your own table.

☆The Rope Bridge- Well, as you can see I had my own photo op on their rope bridge. The place is so instagramable in all corners but this is my favourite part.

☆The Windmill- I have always been fond of windmills and it’s one of the things I loved with Pan de Amerikana. They have a life-sized wind driven Netherland windmill which makes the place extremely lovely and relaxing.
